Je ne sais quoi! Triple threat! It factor.  Some people have it and some don't. Anderson
East just does it for me. His voice touches the inner recesses of your soul and relaxes
comfortably there. He has the perfect tone that's velvety smooth with a touch of grit. He
posses all the qualities of stardom and his name should be in lights. This dude is
classic Americana at its finest.

His music is the perfect backdrop to exceptional vocals. "Hello" is by far my favorite
track because it is nice and mellow and also features guitar and keyboard breakdowns.
"Fire" is also another fav simply because it displays the beauty and power of
Anderson's voice and great songwriting ability. Music is supposed to take you on a
journey and he does that without a doubt. His new project will be out this spring. Please
go out and support really good music!

Ready to explore and create outside of his Nashville roots, East chose Los Angeles for his musical canvas, and a prized cast of individuals to complete the palette, including, Grammy award winning engineer, Seth A. Horan and an array of acclaimed musicians including: Charles Gillingham & David Immergluck (members of the Counting Crows), Rob Wasserman (Lou Reed, Van Morrison), Waddy Wachtel (Warren Zevon, Stevie Nicks), Don Heffington (Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris), Noel Scaggs (Fitz & the Tantrums) and Justine Bennett. With a first look at Anderson East, the golden locks can be misleading.  

He could easily be confused with typical stereotypes, but when you hear the voice it’s hard not to believe that he is the real deal.

There is a deep yearning and a dose of soul-searching found in this 20-something that can make one wonder how these experiences originate from someone this young.  But that’s the essence of soul music; it has no boundaries and can move you into places that are relative to all...

Wrapping up a recent tour of New York in August, work is currently in progress for the new studio album. Recording in Los Angeles, he is working with noted producer Chris Seefried and musicians that include Waddy Wachtel and Charlie Gillingham of the Counting Crows.

...East’s new album would have more of an Americana sound than his past effort. Mixing elements of folk, jazz and rock naturally, this is not too far of a stretch as he can be easily likened to other top Americana acts such as Ryan Adams or Amos Lee.

Along with these additions, further steps have been taken in strategy and business development while finalizing a deal with Daniels Media Law, and other plans are in the works as well to springboard the artist in 2011 through promotion and touring.

With all parts working together, Anderson East is on the brink to have success at the next level and these new accompaniments appear to be the final ingredient to push him over the top. MP

We still have Charlie Gillingham of the Counting Crows on board. He is an extremely talented organ, accordion, piano, and keyboard player.  He is one of the best players in the business and his style should compliment Waddy Wachtel's guitar perfectly.  

ABOUT PHILIP E. DANIELS

Originally from the UK, Phil started off his career as a Biochemist, with the intent of becoming a protein folding engineer, manipulating DNA in order to change the shape of proteins.  However, his love of music and songwriting led him away from the laboratory bench along a path to working with artists.  Deciding to retrain as an attorney, Phil cut his teeth as a music lawyer working with some of the most high profile talent of the 80’s and 90’s, including Queen, Depeche Mode, Spice Girls and Paul Oakenfold.  At the time, Phil had the foresight of how the digital revolution would change the music business forever, and positioned himself as an expert on the convergence of music and technology, working with major labels on their digital distribution strategies and working with the world’s first legitimate peer to peer music service, licensing music for the service from major and independent labels. 

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Phil worked at the BBC in London, where he looked after legal matters in the BBC’s internet, interactive & music businesses, working with a range of BBC content from Little Britain to Fawlty Towers to Doctor Who.  During his time at the BBC, Phil structured and licensed deals for the distribution of the BBC’s content over mobile and web platforms.  In 2004, Phil also became licensed as a California attorney and in 2005, he was hired to work for a boutique media law firm in Beverly Hills, where he represented artists such as Beyonce, Herbie Hancock, Black Eyed Peas and Gwen Stefani, in a wide range of music and digital media matters.  One significant highlight was his contribution to Herbie Hancock’s Grammy-award winning album, “River”, in which Phil was instrumental in negotiating and concluding the producer and guest vocalist agreements for the project. 

Late last year, with a need to satisfy his entrepreneurial ambitions, Phil started his own law firm, Daniels Media Law, where he focuses on representing music, film, TV or web talent, helping talent to achieve their commercial goals.  From negotiating music agreements to concluding web production deals, Phil’s practice is varied and diverse, and he brings to clients 12 years of direct experience in the entertainment and digital media industries.  Phil’s clients include artists, producers, composers, authors, actors, writers, directors and digital media companies.  In terms of Phil’s community activity, he is a member of the distinguished BritWeek Committee, a BAFTA LA member and a member of the International Academy of Web Television. In 2009 he became one of the founding members of the The Restoring Music Foundation.  An organization with a mission to restore the value of music all across the supply chain.  He is also working on a new project, the soon to launch mulafo.com, created to empower artists with tools and services that help build a solid foundation upon which musicians may secure their futures.

Anderson East played the Living Room a few days back in NYC and the show was sold out to the point that people were standing up in the entrance.  It was a great show and he plans to play the venue again the next time touring brings him to New York.  He also had the opportunity to sing a guest spot at the National Underground while he was in NYC.  He went on just before Gavin Degraw, who is the owner of the club. 

We have spent the last 2 years developing the sound, refining the image, and making new friends in the professional music industry.   We recently finalized deals with several agencies that will help us take the big steps needed to go national this winter including: Daniels Media Law, The Restoring Music Foundation, IAMwe MGMT, and BK Entertainment Group.

He is recording the first half of his debut record in LA this September with Chris Seefried.   It will feature two of  the Counting Crows (David Immergluck & Charlie Gillingham), Don Heffington from Emmylou Harris's band, Rob Wasserman, and Noelle Scaggs among others. The second half will be recorded this winter.  We have our eye on a great producer, but haven't closed any deals yet.  It will be exciting though, stay tuned...

The RMF's mission is to restore the value of music all across the supply chain.  Not only with new models, but also national awareness, education, and service projects.  We are launching a new universal business model that aims to recreate the value proposition for buying music, a proposition no different than buying bottled water.  It is free, but it is worth paying for.  This is the exact paradox the RMF aims to restore in music.  We have a fairly notable board of directors and a well thought out plan of action.  Best thing is it all started on a camping trip with Anderson East in deep woods of Alabama on New Years.   Inspiration sometimes shows up in strange places.

Anderson East's debut album will use the new model as part of his full commercialization when he goes national next winter (December - best case).  We are shooting for the "In Rainbows" effect even if the new model does not take globally.  It is an exciting story.
